The Social Media Lab is an eligible host institution for the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program. The program is a competitive initiative for international undergraduates from Australia, Brazil, China, France, India, Germany, Mexico, Tunisia, and Ukraine. From May to October of each year, top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship under the supervision of Canadian university faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines, from science, engineering and mathematics to the humanities and social sciences.
One of the bonus benefits of participating in the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program is that you will also be eligible to apply for the Globalink Graduate Fellowship, which provides $15,000 in financial support to former Globalink research interns who return to Canada for research-based graduate studies at Ryerson University and other eligible Mitacs academic partners. Globalink participants applying to a Canadian master’s or PhD program at any eligible university can apply for the fellowship, regardless of where they completed their Globalink Research Internship.
