We are delighted to announce three new members of the Social Media Lab team: Lingyun (Peter) Ye, Nathan LaPierre and Amanda Wilk.
Lingyun (Peter) Ye. Peter holds an MS from the Department of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. He recently returned to Dalhousie to work on his MS in statistics. Peter brings with him a wealth of web and flash development experience. He posses good knowledge of natural language processing, machine learning methods and data analysis techniques. His primary responsibilities with the lab includes writing scripts to automatically collect, analyze and visualize citation data as well as other publicly available data on the Internet.
Nathan LaPierre is a prolific web developer, designer, and freelancer. He is a native of Nova Scotia and is currently a BSc student in Computer Science at Dalhousie University. In his new capacity at the Social Media Lab, he is responsible for writing scripts and performing general maintenance of netlytic.org, a sister site to socialmedialab.ca.
Amanda Wilk is a MS student in LIS at the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University. Amanda will contribute to the website reviews and general blog writing for the Social Media Lab and will also help conduct interviews for our SSHRC project on scholars’ use of social media.
