We are pleased to announce the official launch of the new home of the Toronto Metropolitan Social Media Lab on Tuesday, September 29th from 5pm-7pm.
The Social Media Lab is a multi- and interdisciplinary research laboratory at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. The lab studies how social media is changing the ways in which people communicate, disseminate information and conduct business in our hyper-connected world. The Lab is unique in Canada and one of the few social media research labs located at a major research university in North America. The lab is headed by Dr. Anatoliy Gruzd, Associate Professor in the School of Business Management and was established with the support of Mohamed Lachemi, the Provost and Vice President Academic of Toronto Metropolitan University, Wendy Cukier, Vice-President of Research and Innovation and Steven Murphy, Dean of the Ted Rogers School of Management.
This free to attend event is not to be missed for visitors who are curious about what we do and for researchers who might be interested in exploring ways to use social media data and social network analysis in their own research. At the launch event visitors will have an opportunity to find out more about some of our on-going research initiatives such as: Measuring Influence Online, Social Media & Health, Social Media & Political Engagement and Social Media & Learning Analytics. Attendees will also have a chance to try out some of the analytic tools that we are developing in the lab including Netlytic and MyTweeps.
We hope you can join us! Space is limited, please RSVP via Eventbrite.
